Michael Allen Rose
Michael Allen Rose is an author, musician, and performance artist based in Chicago, IL. He works in many genres, including horror, bizarro noir (Embry: Hard Boiled), cartoonish comedy (Party Wolves In My Skull) and experimental and surreal explorations of concepts like gun violence (Boiled Americans). He’s been published in anthologies and magazines such as The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction, Kizuna: Stories for Japan, Fireside Popsicles, Bizarro Bizarro and Mighty In Sorrow: A Literary Tribute to David Tibet. His plays and sketches have been produced and performed in a number of theatres and at Chicago’s famed Second City, where he studied in the conservatory program.
Michael also works as a freelance writer and editor, and has written everything from descriptions of BDSM equipment to wiki articles on global marijuana legal issues. He hosts the Ultimate Bizarro Showdown at Portland Oregon's "Bizarro Con" each year and he also occasionally performs on stage and does burlesque. He releases industrial and experimental music under the pseudonym Flood Damage. He really likes cats, and enjoys good tea and good beer.
